Workpieces made of titanium, duplex, and nickel-based alloys can be machined at high cutting speeds and with high material removal rates. The high feed rate of Spinworx® HT also contributes to short production times.
Spinworx® –
a tried-and-true tool system
Spinworx® indexable insert milling cutters are equipped with self-rotating cutting inserts. The inserts, which are optimally matched to the body, are embedded in the body. A pin inserted from the rear ensures a secure fit for the insert.
To ensure constant rotation, all Spinworx® cutting inserts are additionally equipped with a raceway. The quality of the self-rotating cutting inserts is a crucial factor in the process reliability of Spinworx® tooling systems.
When milling with self-rotating cutting inserts, the entire cutting edge is utilized, resulting in uniform wear of the inserts across their entire circumference. Furthermore, there is no need for manual indexing of the cutting inserts.
With self-rotating cutting inserts, Spinworx® tooling systems achieve significantly longer tool life without interruptions in the production process and, depending on the milling conditions, higher chip volumes as well.
Spinworx® cutter bodies are ingeniously designed to deliver long tool life with a single set of cutting inserts. The geometry of the milling cutters ensures optimal chip evacuation, particularly when machining pockets and grooves. The rounded outer contour also effectively prevents chips from adhering to the tool system.
Spinworx® HT is ideal for roughing and finishing, as well as for plunge milling using various strategies. In addition, it can be used for face, slot, corner, and pocket milling. Cutting materials with and without a relief groove, as well as various cutting edge geometries, are available to cover a wide range of applications.
