- ICS improves chip removal and process reliability
- Rigidly designed body with reliable torque transmission
- Four usable cutting edges
- SQ09 indexable insert
With Squareworx® slotting cutters, Pokolm is expanding its existing Squareworx® product family to include high-performance tools for grooving, parting-off, and slotting operations.
The newly developed tool bodies utilize the proven Squareworx® SQ09 indexable insert and provide additional machining possibilities within the same insert geometry.
Squareworx® is a cost-effective indexable insert system that offers a high degree of flexibility. Cutting materials in various grades are available to meet different requirements. The soft-cutting geometry of the indexable insert results in excellent cutting performance and short machining times with maximum chip removal.
Squareworx® slotting cutters are equipped with SQ09 indexable inserts. Using the existing inserts helps reduce inventory costs and simplifies tool management. Customers who already use a Squareworx® also benefit from familiar processes and cutting data. With four cutting edges, maximum cutting performance per insert can also be achieved.
The Pokolm slotting cutter range starts with four tools ranging in diameter from 125 mm to 250 mm. However, slotting cutters are often designed specifically for a particular machining task. For this reason, the new range is not intended to be limited to the standard sizes shown. In the future, tool diameters, cutting depths, and connections can be customized to the customer’s specific application. The smallest achievable tool width, which is 9 mm, is dictated by the design of the Squareworx® SQ09 indexable insert used.
By design, all Squareworx® milling systems feature an internal coolant supply, which enhances the tool's process reliability.
Squareworx® slotting cutters are versatile tools for grooving, parting, and slotting. These cutters prove their worth even when working with narrow contours and in hard-to-reach areas of components.
Squareworx® slotting cutters are suitable for precise grooving, parting, and slotting operations on steel, high-temperature alloys, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, graphite, and plastic.
